Description
Deolali, India born right-handed batsman Frederick Taaffe represented Western Australia from 1922-23 to 1936-37, playing 18 first class matches during that period. With a highest score of 86 not out, one of five half centuries, he averaged 24.79 with the bat in first class play. In 1924-25 he also played for an Australian representative XI but never played at Test match status. An occasional right-arm medium pace bowler, he recorded 7 wickets in first class cricket, five of which came in the same innings when he took 5-89, despite the fact that his 7 wickets cost over 50 runs apiece.
