Description
Houghton, Hampshire born George Allsop played 10 first class cricket matches for Transvaal between 1890-91 and 1897-98, and as a right-hand batsman he scored 242 runs at an average of 15.12 with a highest score of 33. He also took 3 wickets for a total of 93 runs in some 35 overs, with a best performance of 1-1.
Allsop also stood as an umpire in one Test match in 1895-96 and was South Africa’s Tour manager on their 1907 tour to England.
