Description
Hale Common, Farnham, Surrey born Albert Baker made his first class debut for Surrey in 1900, and played 108 matches for the County through to 1912, also playing for Ireland. A right-hand bat, he scored 5 career centuries and 20 half centuries with a highest score of 155 not out, and played most of his cricket for the County between 1900 and 1907. He scored 1,257 runs in 1905 with an average of 31.42, out of a total aggregate of 3,863 runs at an average of 25.75. He also took 40 catches in the first class game, and took 2 wickets with his occasional bowling, in total bowling 30 overs in his career for 116 runs.
