Description
Sculcoates, Hull, Yorkshire born George Deyes was a right-arm fast bowler who took 41 wickets at an average of 23.02 in 17 first class matches for Yorkshire between 1905 and 1907. He had a best of 6-62 against Ireland, and took 5-75 in a County Championship game against Somerset, also taking a third five wicket haul in his first class career. A right-handed tail end batsman, he scored 44 runs at 2.20, with a career best innings score of 12 in first class cricket. He also played for the Yorkshire Second XI from 1903 to 1907 and for Staffordshire in minor counties cricket from 1910 to 1913.
