NB in the photograph he appears with Herbie Hewett (right, also of Somerset) and the unmistakeable W.G.Grace (seated), (probably) at the Gentlemen v Players match, although possibly for The West v The East, or The South v The North, also played in August 1894. Grace was certainly captain in all three matches, Hewett also played in all three as probably did Palairet.
